If you haven’t yet, we highly recommend that you see the movie Food, Inc.  It is a fantastic documentary that exposes, and offers hope for, our food supply.

Mashiko Restaurant Featured On Grist

Good intentions are a great starting point.  Throw in oodles of thoughtful insight and a touch of wit, and you are poised to grab the attention of the masses.  That’s why we are excited to be included on Grist!  

When the delightful Darby Smith sat down with our very own Chef Hajime Sato, it was a fun-filled, fact-finding fiesta!  We think you will appreciate that the resulting informational article has an encouraging feel.  We especially like Darby’s choice of awesome photos by our very good pals at sushiday.com and Richard Ling.

Mashiko Featured In Northwest Palate Magazine

Sustainable sushi continues to gain momentum!  Mashiko Restaurant is featured in the January/February 2010 issue of Northwest Palate Magazine.  The article by Erin DeJesus includes commentary from our very own Chef Hajime Sato along with photos by Jessica Oyanagi and sushiday.com.  We definitely recommend checking it out!

We Agree – Every Day is a Sushi Day!

Hajime likes to feed people.  Hajime also likes to educate people.  So then, how perfect was it that the nice folks from sushiday.com came up from Southern California to eat sustainable seafood and listen to Hajime speak?  With open minds and open mouths, Allison Day and Son Nguyen were an absolute delight to serve.

 The following day, Allison and Son returned to Mashiko for some (almost) one-on-one time with Hajime.  The result: a wonderfully fun interview!  Kudos to Son for so perfectly capturing Hajime’s reserved personality on film.
